So, what the hell is the SCP Foundation?

SCP stands for Secure. Contain. Protect.

​

The SCP Foundation dedicates itself to the containment of anomalies, so people like you and me do not need to worry about man-eating teleporting monsters, immortal violent beasts, demonic cereal boxes, or murderous ancient deities. So we can live in a "normal" world.
Operating clandestine and worldwide, the SCP Foundation acts beyond conventional jurisdiction, with the task of containing anomalous objects, entities, and phenomena.

It is a highly scientific organization. The Foundation runs intensive research on the paranormal, so they can understand it and be able to more efficiently protect the world from it.

They have nearly 10.000 contained anomalies, some of which are infamous on popular culture, like SCP-173 (you know, the statues that snaps your neck when you're not looking).
